This recording is part of the Sami Rohr Library of Yiddish Audio Books, a series of audio books and short stories featuring the greatest works of Yiddish literature read aloud in the original Yiddish. Recorded by native Yiddish speakers at the Jewish Public Library of Montreal in the 1980s and 1990s as part of the library's collection of "redndike bikher" (Yiddish Talking Books) and digitized and distributed by the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Massachusetts.
